Old Marco is the island’s northern historic waterfront area. The city planning map places the Big Marco River along this side of the island, while the road dataset locates the Bald Eagle Drive reference used on our map. This guide concerns privately owned waterfront structures, not a claim that every historic property has the same seawall. On an established lot, docks, mature landscaping and adjoining walls can make a modest repair an access project as well as a structural one.

Reconstruct the wall’s history before selecting a repair

Ask for the original wall permit, later cap or anchor repairs and the final survey. Compare those records with the present dock and wall ends. If a repair invoice says only “seawall work,” ask which section and component it describes.

The city manual notes that adjacent-wall deterioration can affect a neighboring property. Include both transitions in the assessment and record any water-side area the professional cannot reach.

What could the work cost?

A contractor should identify the actual loading location and access permission. Do not assume the nearest public or private dock can be used for construction. Price any required barge setup and restoration separately.
